Ministry Profile

The worship arts ministry is tasked with developing the worship and artistic elements of services at Discover church.  This can include music, dance, drama, video, testimonies, and anything else that can help people to experience God while attending a service.

How to Get Involved

The first and most obvious way is to simply participate in our worship services.  Worship is not something you 'go to'.  It is something that you do.  It's a little different than anyplace else that you might experience artistic things.  Music is a big part of worship.  We worship God by singing to him and about him.  So participation is a big thing.  But if at first you want to watch and listen.  That's cool.

On the other side of things, we are always looking for help in virtually every capacity.  If you sing well, play an instrument, run sound, enjoy working with lights, graphics or recording.  If you can act or direct or write. If you know lots of movies or like to make movies.  -  we can find a way for you to serve God and the people that come through our doors.  And that really is the key.  You are serving God, so every job is equally important.  If you are drawn to something specific because of a specific talent - outstanding!  If you are drawn to something because you think it is more glamorous than something else - then maybe you're not ready for this ministry.  Because that is not what we are about.  This ministry works because every part of the 'body' is doing its part.  The eye is not more important than the hand, and we appreciate both!

So, if your heart cry is "God, you've given me skills, I want to give them back to you, in whatever way I can".  Then give me a call or email.

The first step will be to make sure you have begun the process of completing the "Discover" Class.  It is a four part class.  101 is required before permanent assignment is possible.  In the meantime, we'll get to know each other, have you come to rehearsals, make some friends among the teams, learn the music or the systems or whatever - just become family!
